Animation (please help!)

I really want to make an animation but I have no idea what program to use, I checked out what some people on YouTube use to animate and they use Adobe. I want to know if it really is good or not or if there's a better program out there for animating. If any of you animate or know someone who animates, please let me know, I really need advice.

Ya, I havent been uploading in a while, some family stuff happened and then i was so focused on finals and doing these special paintings for all my friends that I hadn't had any time to ART. But now Im all gradgiated  and I'm not freaking out about that anymore but I am freaking about being an adult in the real world, I only have 4 days left to be a child someone find my the fountain of youth!  JK but for realzies im just full of feelz right now, mostly happy feelz I mind you. Gaaaaahhh!!!! Adulthood is gonna smack me in the face!
